Another fair sized group on a beautiful day for a tempo run in the hills.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – 5 miles @ RLRF pace

News – The Poconos Marathon Training Group will be doing 20.5 departing the zero at 5:10 am for a Scenic Loop.  They will be back in time to join the rest of the group for the Barton Hills Lollipop departing the zero at 7:00 am via this route:  http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=314222.  The Fast Group will add 2 Wilkes (one coming and one going) and the Fun Group will add 1 Wilke (either coming or going).  Both groups will then complete the 4 mile loop on the trail.  Breakfast at 8:56:56 am at Casa Garcia on Lamar.  Anyone not doing the long run Saturday morning should be in Fort Worth running the Cowtown Marathon.  We want to see some negative splits!!

More News – don’t forget C/M’s new band, Shakedown, will be at Shenanigans on Pond Springs Road on Friday night from 9:30 pm to 1:30 am.  You know you wanna go!

Gloves, check!  Hat, check!  Tights, check!  Compression socks, check!  Rain jacket, check!  Ten brave shipmates (and one displaced 26.2er), check!  Snow, check!

The Workout – RLRF Ladder; 1200, 1000, 800, 600, 400 @ RLRF pace.

News – CMTG will NOT be running Scenic tomorrow but will be running a leisurely 3 mile loop on the trail departing the rock at 4ish.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday…tempo style following this route:  http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=349933.  There will be a long run on Saturday. Awesome freaking workout, Al!  Way to coach.  The hilly tempo run was a great way to mix things up.  Good course, good group, good times!

The Workout – 4.1 mile hilly tempo @ RL, RF pace

News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am SHARP.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  Breakfast at Sazon (1816 S Lamar) at 8:57:57 am.

Yet another PERFECT running day!  Even with half of the group having “marathon legs” it was a strong showing.  The only thing stronger than the showing was the coaching.  Way to coach, Al!

JimiTex Group = 5
Fast Group = 4
Fun Group = 3
Newcomers Group = 2
Severe Recovery/Tapering/Injured Group = 1

News – CMTG will be running Scenic today departing the rock at 4ish.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday.  There will be a long run on Saturday (on the trail this week).  Breakfast TBA.

Ah, marathon week.  It’s, by far, the most wonderful time of the year!

The Workout – 400s and a mile
Fast Group = 6 x 400 plus a timed mile @ PR pace
Fun Group = 4 x 400 plus  a timed mile @ PR pace
Severe Taper Mode Group = 4 x 400 plus timing others while they run a timed mile @ PR pace

News – AMTG will NOT be running Scenic tomorrow departing the rock at 4ish…just 3 on the trail departing the rock at 4ish.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday.  There will be a long run on Saturday.  Breakfast TBA.  There will be a marathon on Sunday.

Annual Marathon Party – you should have received (and responded to) an invitation to the marathon party coming up on Friday.  If not, let me know.

It was a little rainy.  It was a little cold.  Eight of us decided to run hills anyway.  Way to coach, Al!  Way to run Russell, Brandon, Julie, Al, Sandy, Logan, Audrey, and Big!

The Workout – miles and half miles
Fast Group = mile, half mile, mile
Fun Group = mile, half mile, half mile

News – There will be a long run on Saturday…on the trail this week for 7 or 10.  You can also do the south part of the marathon course, to get that bad boy set into your muscle memory, by following this route:  http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=344956.  There will be gatorade somewhere early on S 1st on this route.  Breakfast at Galaxy Cafe (http://www.galaxycafeaustin.com) at 1000 West Lynn at 8:34:35 am. 

Marathon Volunteers will then meet in the parking lot at RunTex Riverside at 10 am to knock out flyer duty.  Here is who I have on the list:  Al, Sandy, POJ, Linda, TJ, Carolyn, C/M, Michelle R., Alex, Rachel, Arthur, Summer, Paul W., Dave D., Barbara, Vance, Jim G., and Big.

More News – C/M’s new band, Shakedown, will be in Round Rock this Friday night from 8:30 pm to midnight at Roadhouse Bar & Grill.  Feel free to mosey on out and get your rock on!!

Even More News – the 2nd Annual Anchor Ranch Du-Loop will be on Saturday, April 3rd.
