Nasty weather = no workout.  Way to coach, Al!

News – there will NOT be a mansion loop today (Wednesday).  There will be a Stampede tonight, departing I-35 at 7:00:00 pm.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday, repeats this week.  There will be a long run on Saturday, in the hills this week.  Route and breakfast TBA.

It was just cloudy and breezy enough at workout time that we didn’t have to cancel the workout.  Way to coach, Al!!

The Workout – 3 mile tempo

News – There will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  BIMTG will be departing the zero at 5:50:00 am for 7 extra and then adding Holly to the 10 mile loop for a total of 18.  Breakfast at Kerbey Lane (Guadalupe) @ 8:59:59 am.

The first official workout of summer was cancelled due to the heat and humidity.  The thought of doing mile repeats in the heat/humidity was just too tempting for the vast majority of those who had congregated…so many hung around and did the workout that was scheduled prior to the cancellation.  Mary managed to retain the WoW.

The Workout – Mile Repeats @ RLRF Pace
Fast Group/BIMTG = 3
Fun Group/Sauvie Islanders = 2
Newcomers = 1

News – Sauvie Islanders are in severe taper mode so I’m uncertain if there will be a mansion loop on Wednesday.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday.  3 mile tempo.  There will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  BIMTG will be departing the zero at 5:50:00 am for 7 extra and then adding Holly to the 10 mile loop for a total 18.

Sandy came out of the gate strong looking to earn the WOW for an unprecedented third time.  She was, however, clipped at the wire by Mary.  Way to whine, Mary!  Way to coach, Al!!

Fun Group = 1600, 800, 400

News – There will be a long run on Saturday (hilly routes of 11.1 or 6.5 miles) departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  Sauvie Islanders are breaking off a 24 miler by doing 7.88 starting at 4:45:00 am and then joining  BIMTG at 6:00:00 am 16.16 more.  Breakfast at Little Mexico @ 8:59:59 am.

Today’s workout was cancelled due to excessive heat and humidity.  Pretty much everybody hung around anyway and did the workout we were going to do before it was cancelled.

Coach Al graduated to a new age group today!  Happy b-day, Sweetness!!  Chocolate Rum Bundt Cake was annihilated shortly after the workout (that was cancelled) would have ended.  Way to coach, Al!

News – there will be a mansion loop tomorrow departing Sandy’s house at 6:00:00 pm.  There will be a Stampede tomorrow (at Town Lake) departing I-35ish at 7:00:00 pm.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday (repeats this week…assuming we don’t have to cancel it due to high heat/humidity).  There will be a long run on Saturday (hilly routes of 11.1 or 6.5 miles) departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  Sauvie Islanders are breaking off a 24 miler (by adding on this and this) starting at 4:45:00 am.  BIMTG will be doing 16ish of those 24 miles starting at 6:00:00 am.  Breakfast at Little Mexico @ 8:59:59 am.

It was 93 at workout time…that beats the heck out of last year’s 102 on this day (which stands as the record high)!  When you’re running through the sludge it helps to focus on how much worse it could be.  Way to coach, Al!!

News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  Sauvie Islanders and BIMTG will be departing at 6:20:00 am for 4 extra.  Still pondering breakfast…we’ll announce it just prior to departing at 7:00:00 am and it will be at 9:03:24 am.

The weather gods smiled upon us Tuesday evening with a fair amount of cloud cover, a nice breeze from the south, and no rain.  Way to coach, Al!

News – there will be a Mansion Loop departing Sandy’s house Wednesday at 6:00:00 pm.  There will be a Stampede Wednesday at Brushy Creek this week departing at 7:00:00 pm.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday, 5 mile tempo.  There will be a  long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am, on the trail this week for 4, 7, 0r 10.  Sauvie Islanders and BIMTG will be doing 4 extra departing the zero at 6:20:00 am.  Breakfast TBA.

We now have our first two-time winner of the WOW!  Way to whine, Sandy!!

The Workout – 1000 meter repeats on 12th St.
Fast Group/Sauvie Islanders = 5
Fun Group/BIMTG = 4

News – There will be a long run on Saturday, hills this week.  The 7:00:00 am group will be doing Scenic.  It would be a good idea, and I strongly encourage you, to carry a water bottle with you (it can be refilled along the way @ the rock, the gas station on Expo, and the cleaners on 35th).  Sauvie Islanders are scheduled for 22 miles.  They’ll be leaving the zero at 5:05:00 am for 7 miles.  BIMTG will meet them at 6:20:00 am for 4 miles.  They’ll ALL be back to the zero at 7:00:00 am to do Scenic with the rest of the group.  Breakfast at Taqueria Chapala (2101 E. Cesar Chavez) @ 8:53:54 am.

June is here and she brought with her a fair amount of heat.  It would have been worse without the mild breeze coming down the back stretch and, of course, all the fantastic company.  Jerie earned the WOW.  Way to whine, Jerie…and way to coach, Al!!
