We started the workout with some excellent tips from Nick and Jeff re working out when the weather is less than cooperative.  In short, don’t do it.  If you insist on doing it pay close attention to how you’re feeling.  Drink a ton.  More than you think you need.  If you get dizzy or feel light headed at all back off, take it easy, and drink some more.  Way to remind us, Nick and Jeff…and way to coach, Al!

The Workout – 400s and 200s
Fast Group = 6 and 6
Fun Group = 5 and 5
Beginners = 4 and 4

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (repeats).  There will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  In the hills this week for 11 or 8.  Breakfast at Kerbey Lane (2606 Guadalupe) whenever you get there!

The Deadwood Marathon Training Group suffered a mass exodus yesterday.  I’m sure it was for a variety of reasons…but the overnight low of 76 leading up to race morning definitely claimed at least one casualty.  Joe T. and Sean are the only two left standing.  Good luck next weekend Joe and Sean!

The Workout – 3 mile tempo

News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing Vance’s house in Lago Vista at 8:00:00 am.  If you’re planning on being there you should have RSVP’d by Monday and received details via email.  If not, let Vance know!  For those who can’t make it to Lago I’m fairly certain there will be a group at the zero at 7:00:00 am.  Route, distance, and breakfast to be determined by those in attendance.

Yet More News Still – Shakedown will be tearing it up Friday at Baby A’s Stonelake location from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  Come beat the heat with a purple!

It was obvious by the fact that 21 people were at the store when we left for O. Henry that the group was going to be huge…and it was.  One of the newcomers asked if the group would get smaller as the weather got hotter and was surprised to hear that the opposite would occur.  Way to coach, Al!

The Boston celebratory post-workout feast was awesome!  The best part is the ship overcontributed towards the bill and there is $50 in the kitty for our next outing (if I don’t find Joe T., Karen (the new girl), and a few others first to give them their change).  Sandy procured the WoW.

The Workout – 800, mile, 3 person relay (the beginners stopped after the mile)

News – there will be a hill workout Thursday.  Could be tempo, could be repeats…you’ll have to show up to find out.  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  Breakfast TBA.
