Whoa!  Not sure what happened to the Tuesday workout report but I apologize for the abbreviation.  History has been rewritten and the complete report is now available for your viewing pleasure! 

The Workout – Quality 1000s – the beauty of the quality workout is you only have to do 1 rep…but it has to be all out.

News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  In the hills this week for 10.71 miles.  If you want to do less you can cut this route straight across at Enfield for closer to 8 miles.  TMTG will be departing at 5:20:00 am for 20.49 miles.  There will be water/gatorade at the following locations:

Water @ the rock
Gatorade @ Enfield/Robin Hood (Big)
Gatorade @ Expo/35th (Amber)
Gatorade @ Bull Creek/Hancock (Al)
Gatorade @ N MoPac/N Hills (Al)
Water @ Lowes on Steck
Gatorade @ White Rock/Rickey (Al…frozen bottles, ORANGE!)
Gatorade @ Shoal Creek/45th (Allegra)
Gatorade @ Rio Grande/24th (Big)

If you want something in between 10.71 and 20.49 here are approximate cutoffs and distances:

45th = 12 miles
Hancock = 13 miles
2222 = 15 miles
Far West = 17.5 miles
Anderson Lane = 19.5 miles

Breakfast at Maria’s Taco Express at 9:12:13 am (or whenever you get there)!

Our thanks to coach Al for granting us yet another easy week whilst we attempt to acclimate to the new “normal”…100 degree days in June.  Cutting out the backwards really helped get us all through workout!  Way to coach, Al!!

The Workout – 42s (1 x 400, 1 x 200)
Beginners = 3
Fun Group = 4
Fast Group = 5
ARC Discount = 6+

We finished up with 3 person relays (1 complete lap each).

News – TMTG will be doing Scenic today departing the rock at 4ish.  There will be a Stampede at the lake tonight departing I-35ish at 7:00 pm.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday (repeats).  There will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  In the hills this week for 10.71 miles.  If you want to do less you can cut this route straight across at Enfield for closer to 8 miles.  TMTG will be departing at 5:20:00 am for 20.49 miles.  There will be water/gatorade at the following locations:

It was pretty mild out (couldn’t have been more than 98 or 99)…kinda felt like fall was back.

The Workout – 2 mile tempo/time trial

News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  TMTG will be departing the zero at 5:20:00 am for an extra 10 (there will be gatorade at the truck between the early/regular loop but otherwise we’ll be hitting the water fountains on the trail…all of them).  Breakfast at Cafe Express (3418 N Lamar) at 9:01:12 am.

With the Austin Marathon less than 9 months away…it’s time to start getting in marathon shape!  The group was quite large with enthusiasm to spare (even despite Barbara’s early wardrobe malfunction).  Way to coach, Al!

Beginners = 2
Fun Group = 3
Fast Group = 4
ARC Discount (+1) Group = 5

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (awesome 2 mile tempo).  There will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  TMTG will be departing the zero at 5:20:00 am for an extra 10.  Breakfast at Cafe Express (3418 N Lamar) at 9:01:12 am.

104 degrees, Moonlight Margarita Run, deluxe wreck-related traffic snarl on MoPac…and still a fair amount of folks showed up to click off some hill repeats.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – 42s (400s and 200s)
Beginner Group = 2
Fun Group = 3
Fast Group = 4

News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am, off the trail this week for 11.4 miles.  If you want to do 8.43 extra you can leave the zero at 5:35:00 am (there will be at least two of us there at 5:35:00 am).  Breakfast at Dario’s (1800 E 6th St) when you get there!

More News – Shakedown will be crushing Baby A’s Stonelake location this Saturday from 7 pm to 10 pm.  It’s going to be 100 degrees but a purple margarita will have you believing it’s only 70 degrees!

The workout started on a somber tone as we paused for a moment to reflect on Scott Birk’s passing.  Scott will be remembered as one of the truly great guys by all who knew him.  He touched a lot of lives in a very positive way.  He left way too soon.

Coach Al whipped out a tough workout…but not so tough that we forgot about his birthday tomorrow!  We finished the workout by refueling with a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Cake (great idea, Dyana) and chocolate milk.  Happy birthday, Al!

The Workout – 400s and 3 person relays
Fast Group = 6 x 400 plus 4 half laps
Fun Group = 5 x 400 plus 4 half laps
Beginner = 4 x 400 plus 4 half laps

Beginners = timed mile, indian file half mile

News – there will be a Stampede on Wednesday, at Brush Creek this week.  There will be a hill workout on Thursday (5 mile tempo).  There will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am, on the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10.  If you want to do 5 extra TMTG will be departing the zero at 6:10:00 am, returning to join the rest of the group at 7:00:00 am.  Breakfast at Maudie’s on S. Lamar at 8:56:56 am…or whenever you get there!

News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am.  In the hills this week for 11 or 8.  There will be Gatorade at Redbud/LAB and Windsor/Exposition.  Breakfast at Kerbey Lane (2606 Guadalupe) whenever you get there!
