As a reminder, there will be no official workout this coming Tuesday (aka New Year’s Day).  Feel free to follow your training plan on that day or nurse your hangover with the only true cure for being over-served…a Starbucks triple venti latte and a fatburger (a cheeseburger with a fried egg on top).

The Workout – 4 mile tempo

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday.  Off the trail this week for 20 miles or 10 miles.  There will be water/gatorade every few miles.  Breakfast at Dario’s at 10:30:00 am.

There was no official workout scheduled for Christmas day.  Follow your training plan if you must run…other wise curl up with some eggnog!  Way to coach, Al!

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (4 mile tempo).  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday.  Off the trail this week for 20 miles or 10 miles.  There will be water/gatorade every few miles.  Breakfast at Dario’s at 10:30:00 am.

Another date anomaly (12-20-20-12)…and the world did not come to an end.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – 3 mile tempo

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday.  Somewhat on the trail this week for 13 or 18 miles.  The half marathoners will be doing this 8 mile route followed by the 5 mile loop on the trail while the marathoners will be doing the same 8 mile route followed by the 10 mile loop on the trail.  Breakfast at Cafe Express whenever you get there.

Huge thank you to Coach Al and Sandy for opening up the mansion to the group on Saturday and feeding everyone never ending tacos, casseroles, cinnamon twists, coffee, orange juice, and adult beverages!  Way to coach, Al!!

The Workout – 2 x (6×400)

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (3 mile tempo).  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday.  Somewhat on the trail this week for 13 or 18 miles.  The half marathoners will be doing this 8 mile route followed by the 5 mile loop on the trail while the marathoners will be doing the same 8 mile route followed by the 10 mile loop on the trail.  Breakfast at Cafe Express whenever you get there.

A group of about 20 fools were in attendance for Thursday’s workout.  They were the first to receive the new and improved “SHIP” sticker.  You can pick yours up at the mansion on Saturday.  Way to coach, Al!

News – there will be a long run departing SANDY’S MANSION at 7:00:00 am on Saturday for 7.96 miles (half marathoners) or 13 miles (marathoners).  There will be some fools departing early for an extra 5.06 miles or 7 miles prior to joining the rest of the group at 7:00:00 am.  FREE breakfast at the mansion following the run(s).

Thank you to everyone who stepped up to help out with the ship’s water stop at this weekend’s Decker Challenge!  The runner’s club still needs volunteers in other areas so don’t be shy!

December is shaping up to be a big and busy month for the ship!  Mega thanks to Dr. Chris from Perfomance Wellness for braving the dark to offer healing assistance on this first Tuesday of the month.  Also, thanks to Summer and Austin Runners Club for the PowerICE samples.  Please remember to let Summer know what you think about the product if you took a sample!

Listed below are a few things to keep in mind over the next couple of weeks:
