Upcoming action in order:

Monday, June 1st, Austin Runners Club’s Monday night run (now hosted by Kate/John) is a “meet the new ARC board” night!  The 5 mile run starts at 6:30 pm from Ready to Run on Far West Blvd.  There will be a Saucony rep on hand demoing shoes.  There will be a happy hour at El Arroyo on Wood Hollow immediately after the run.  Sounds like a great way to start the week AND the month of June!

The very next day, Tuesday, June 2nd, is the first Tuesday of June so Dr. Jonathan from Performance Wellness should be in the house.  Bring what ails you…assuming it’s not the daily dose of 100% humidity!

Fast forward to June 16th.  The Tuesday night workout will feature some folks from Lululemon.  Some of your new ARC board members will be modelling their gear AND, more importantly, there will be a raffle of some outfits.  Fellas…Lululemon IS NOT just for the ladies.  They have dude gear too!

The Workout – figure 8 plus a leg (basically a hilly mile repeat)
Fun Group = 2
Fast Group = 3

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10 miles.  The parking lot might even be open.  If you want to do extra, Jim et al will be departing the zero (if it’s open, One Texas if not) at 5:45 am for 8.22 miles at 8:15 – 8:30 per.  Breakfast at Freddie’s Place at 8:57:12 am.

Run every chance you get!

If you’ve been enjoying the Gatorade for the last several workouts you can thank Harold.  He was nice enough to drop a big tank of the powder for your liquid pleasure.  It should last several more workouts so thank him if you get the chance.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – Yasso 800s
Fun Group = 4
Fast Group = 6
PYNOI Group = 8 (Kate, Laura, John, J)

Don’t let the fact that the Lifetime Cap Tex Tri is on Monday fool you into believing that the parking lot at Auditorium Shores will be available on Saturday morning.  It won’t.  The signs that have been up for a week actually say that the parking lot won’t be available after Friday.  Make alternate parking arrangements for Saturday morning’s long run.  One Texas (the corner of S 1st/Barton Springs) has been a reliable back up.

The Workout – 6 x 400, 3 person half lap relay (each person does 3 complete laps)

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (5 mile tempo).  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 11.06 miles or 8ish miles (turn at Windsor).  There will be water/Gatorade every couple of miles.  Breakfast at Maudie’s (1212 S Lamar) at 9:01:12 am.
