News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday.  Tempo runs of 3.03 miles or 5.07 miles.  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  On the trail this week for 4, 7, or 10 miles.  Breakfast at Borrego de Oro (3900 S Congress) at 8:52:52 am.

The Workout – 5 mile tempo w/ a 3 mile option by u-turning at the cooler

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 10 miles, 6 miles (turn around at the cooler at Windsor/Harris), or 4 miles (turn around at 24th/Rio Grande).  There will also be a cooler at Enfield/Raleigh. Breakfast at Maria’s Taco Express (2529 S Lamar) at 8:55:55 am.

The parking lot at Auditorium Shores is reopened in what seems like record time.  Way to vacate SXSW and way to coach, Al!

REMINDER!  The parking lot at Auditorium Shores is quite closed and will remain so through Saturday (and beyond).  Please make arrangements to park elsewhere for Saturday morning’s long run.  One Texas has been a good option.  If you’re a minute late, we’ll be a minute down the trail.  Way to coach, Al!

There have been a few items left on my truck after workouts over the last week or so.  A pair of running glasses and an ARC hat.  The glasses were more than a week ago.  The hat was tonight.  Please claim them or they’re going to Goodwill.  Thanks!

Being able to use the O. Henry track for our workouts, like we have for the last 14 + years, is a privilege.  We’ve protected that privilege in a variety of ways over the years but mainly it’s been accomplished by being as invisible as possible.  We stay away from the track when there are official O. Henry activities occurring, we’re diligent about litter, and we are friendly to other track users.  Overly friendly.  We don’t use lanes during the drills that others are using (usually 1 or 6).  Most importantly, we never ask children not to ride their bike on the track.  Ever.  Our use of the track is never more important than anyone else’s use of the track.
