RETRACTION!  Dr. J will NOT be at the workout the first Tuesday of July.  He’s taking a well earned vacation.

Let’s get at least two teams together for the Car2Go Marathon Relay!  6 per team.  The race is September 18th.  Let Coach Al know if you have a team or need help putting one together.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – 800s from Joe’s stump

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 10.17 miles, 6 miles (turn around at Windsor/Harris), or 4 miles (turn around at 24th/Rio Grande).  There will be water/Gatorade at the following locations:

Gatorade @ 24th/Rio Grande (Al)
Gatorade @ Expo/Northwood (Colin)
Gatorade @ Enfield/Robinhood (Big)
Water @ the rock

Breakfast at El Borrego de Oro (3900 S Congress).

Our next Tuesday workout will be the first Tuesday of July.  Dr. Jonathan from Performance Wellness will be there.  He can’t control the weather but he can give you one less thing to complain about while you’re out in it.

The Workout – cancelled due to lightning!  It would have been a couple of mile repeats and a 3-person relay.

The parking lot at Auditorium Shores was already partially closed off this morning for the Keep Austin Weird 5k on Saturday.  Better make arrangements for parking elsewhere.  One Texas has been a good alternate.

For those of you who run Stratford and then down Redbud…heads up.  Apparently the cliff edge is giving way and they’ve installed a fence that takes up most of the shoulder as you head down to the low water bridge.  It was never a super safe route but it has become considerably less so.

Fast Group = 6

There was a Run for the Water shirt left on one of the large rocks at the O. Henry parking lot after Tuesday’s workout.  Miraculously it was still there on Thursday.  It is now in my truck waiting to be claimed by its rightful owner.

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  Off the trail this weekend for 10.43 miles (6 miles if you come back via S Lamar or 4 miles if you turn around at the cooler at Travis Heights/Mariposa).  There will also be water/gatorade at Oltorf/S Lamar, Barton Hills/Wilke, and the rock.  Breakfast at Little Mexico (2304 S 1st) at 8:59:59 am.  May/June birthdays will be celebrated!

Kudos to whoever replaced the normal orange/lemon lime gatorade with fruit punch.  I can only speculate that it was in honor of the 12th anniversary of the 2004 Austin Marathon.  Way to coach, Al!

As a reminder, we’re on the trail for Saturday’s long run.  It is still flooded in some spots but there are easy/obvious go arounds.  When in doubt…turn around, don’t drown.

Special thank you to Dr. Jonathan from Performance Wellness for braving the heat to dole out the active release on some ailing fools!  With all the sore hamstrings I thought it best to eliminate the 200 from the ladder (code for I forgot it…don’t tell coach).

This evening’s workout definitely separated the fools from the real fools.  One or the other, depending on your perspective, was treated to peanut butter cobbler.  Way to coach, Al!

This coming Tuesday, 6/7/2016, is the first Tuesday of June.  Dr. J from Performance Wellness will be at the workout in an attempt to sooth the savage beast.
