This being the last Tuesday of May means that Dr. J from Performance Wellness will be at our next Tuesday workout (the first Tuesday of June) to poke, prod, and heal.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – 800s
Fun Group = 4
Fast Group = 6

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (tempo runs of 3 miles or 6 miles).  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 6.79 miles or 10.17 miles.  You can also do 4 miles by starting with the group and turning around at 24th/Rio Grande.  Breakfast at Little Mexico (2304 S 1st) at 8:59:59 am.

The Workout – tempo runs of 5 miles or 3 miles, 3 milers turned back at the cooler

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 11 miles (linked route plus one of these), 6 miles (start on the linked route but return via S Lamar), or 4 miles (start on the linked route but u-turn at the first cooler).  There will be water/Gatorade at the following spots along the 11 mile route (and parts of the other routes):

Gatorade at Travis Heights/Mariposa
Gatorade at Oltorf/S Lamar
Gatorade at Barton Hills/Wilke
water at the rock

Breakfast at Cafe Express (3418 N Lamar) at 9:05:05 am.

The parking lot at Auditorium Shores may or may not be available on Saturday morning.  It may appear available until approximately 6:53:00 am when several of Austin’s finest arrive en masse to scare fools previously willing to roll the towing dice right back into their cars to seek alternative parking.  Some may even believe that a scenario such as that may bestow an alternate starting time of, perhaps, 7:01:30 or even 7:02:05.  But, alas, all mutinies aside (however poorly conceived) the group will start at 7:00:00.

Coach Al called the weather perfectly today.  The “storms” moved through and we were left with a cloudy and cool evening.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – 1000m (981m) repeats
Fun Group = 3
Fast Group = 4
PYNOI = 7 (Kate, Laura, Mary Christine…the latter of which may still be out there)

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (repeats).  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  On the trail this week for 3, 6, or 10 miles (counter clockwise I presume).  Breakfast at Don Dario’s (8801 S I35) at 9:05:05 am.

We’ll be running Scenic again old school this Saturday.  There are water fountains at various locations along the route which we will be utilizing in lieu of coolers.  You may want to supplement that with your own carry along bottle.

The Workout – tempo runs of 3 miles or 5 miles

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 11.07 miles or closer to 7.5 miles if you turn back at the boat docks.  If you’re new, injured, tapering, or recovering…the 4 mile loop on the trail should suffice.

Breakfast at Julio’s Cafe (4230 Duval) at 9:02:02 am.  I’ve heard a rumor that Julio’s is cash only so you might want to be prepared for that.  I’ve also heard a minor amount of grumbling that the ATM outside of Julio’s might actually charge a fee for cash access.  ATM fees are good.  That’s all I’m going to say on that topic.

The Workout – ladder
Fast Group = 400, 800, 1200, 1600
Fun Group = 400, 800, 1600
Both Groups = twice around the track going backwards on the straights and jogging the curves

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (tempo runs of 3 miles or 5 miles).  There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 11.07 miles or closer to 7.5 miles if you turn back at the boat docks.  If you’re new, injured, tapering, or recovering…the 4 mile loop on the trail should suffice.
