Excellent evening for a run! The group was a little on the small side…maybe a dozen. The recently dismantled CIMTG is still in recovery mode…while the Austin Marathoners must be tapering for their 20 miler on Saturday! Way to coach, Al!
The Workout – 5 mile tempo
News – there will be a long run on Saturday departing the zero at 7:00:00 am. Austin Marathoners have a 20 miler on the schedule and will start at 5:15:00 am with this 10 mile portion of the new Austin Marathon course (south). They’ll return to the zero by 7:00:00 am to join the fast group for this 10 mile portion of the new Austin Marathon course (more north and sharing approximately 6 miles of the new course). The fun group can start at 7:00:00 am and cut off at Windsor (which becomes 24th) and then catch Rio Grande back for closer to 6 miles total. CIMTG will be consumed by JMTG and, being in severe recovery mode, should do no more than 10 miles of any of the aforementioned routes at any of the aforementioned start times. Breakfast is at Taquerias Arandas (2448 S 1st St.) in two shifts (7:10:01 am and 9:10:02 am).
More News – I knocked Bruce’s book (Sour Lake; Or, The Beast) out in less than 48 hours. It’s a great read and ridiculously underpriced on amazon.com. Bruce has long held the award for the most epic race report ever written (often being accused of writing it first and then going out to run a race to match it) and the book is even better!
Yet More News Still – VOLUNTEER FOR DECKER (if you’re not running it)! We still need a few volunteers to make the ship water stop rock. The race is Sunday morning. Email Al @ al.cumming@texasbar.com and let him know you’ll be there.
Run every chance you get!
