Don’t worry about the CapTex Tri blocking our parking lot Saturday morning because we’re NOT RUNNING FROM THE ZERO SATURDAY MORNING!!  Saturday’s long run will be departing from Sandy’s mansion at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning and will be followed by a FREE breakfast feast of tacos, pastries, and assorted casseroles.  Way to coach, Al!

The Workout – timed 800, 4 x 400 w/a partner, 2 x 3-person relay, twice around backwards on the straights/jog the curves

News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (repeats).  There will be a long run departing Sandy’s mansion at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  9.92 miles or less if you turn around and head back to the mansion after completing half the distance you’d like to cover.  There will be liquids at mile 2, mile 5, and mile 8 as well as at the start/finish.

The Workout – tempo runs of 3 miles or 4 miles

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning.  Off the trail this week for 7.02 miles or 10 miles (10 milers run the linked route and add 3 miles by running on the trail from S 1st to I-35).  Breakfast at Maria’s Taco Express (2529 S Lamar) at 8:57:57 am.

Yes, you read that correctly.  It is May.  Dr. J from Performance Wellness had to punt to next week.  That means that next Tuesday, May 8th, will not only be our monthly Happy Hour but we’ll also have FREE active release treatments.  I’m not sure how we’ll fit a workout in there but where there’s a Coach Al, there’s a way (to coach, Al!).

Don’t forget that “our” parking lot will be unavailable, again, on Saturday morning.  Feel free to enjoy food, wine, and parking at TxDOT (or one of the nearby parking lots).

Tuesday, May 1st, is the first Tuesday of May so we’ll be joined by Dr. J…from Performance Wellness.

Coach Al and I will both be out of pocket for the workouts on Tuesday, May 15th, and Thursday, May 17th.  Kate will be leading the group on those dates but we need someone to bring the water (somebody with a truck or SUV).  We can hook you up with everything else you’ll need (coolers, cups, ice).  Please let coach know if you can haul the water that Tuesday and/or Thursday!

The Workout – quality + 3 backwards (Possum Trot from 11th to Marlton)

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am on Saturday morning.  Mostly off the trail this week for 10.43 miles, 6 miles (turn right on Lamar and return to the zero), or 4 miles (turn back at Travis Heights/Mariposa).  Liquids placed as follows:

It will be May, at the soonest, before we can park at Auditorium Shores again.  As soon as Reggae Fest clears out, Austin Food and Wine clears in.  Keep using the lots further down Riverside or TxDOT.

I’m going to go way out on a limb and guess that somewhere in between Reggae Fest and the Food and Wine Festival…there will be no parking at Auditorium Shores this weekend or next.  TxDOT is also the free shuttle pick up spot for the festival on Saturday and Sunday.  Please plan accordingly.

The Workout – 4 mile tempo

News – there will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning.  On the trail this week for 3, 6, or 10 miles.  Breakfast at Torchy’s (1822 S Congress) at 9:00:01 am.
