On Tuesdays we meet at O. Henry Middle School at 5:55 p.m. We loosen up with an easy mile or so on the track or in the surrounding neighborhood and then do some running drills (sliding, high knees, butt kicks, etc…) before launching into a track workout. The workout typically consists of repeats of 400, 800, 1000, 1200, and/or 1600 meters as well as relays of varying distances. The workouts usually last until 7:00 p.m.
The O. Henry track is NOT a regulation track. It is short. A lap is approximately 327 meters. Click below to access a pdf showing how to do various distances on the track.
