On Thursdays we meet at O. Henry Middle School at 5:55 p.m. We loosen up with an easy mile or so on the track or in the surrounding neighborhood and then do some running drills (sliding, high knees, butt kicks, etc…) before launching into a hill workout. The hill workout typically consists of hilly repeats of 400, 800, 1000, 1200, and/or 1600 meters as well as relays of varying distances. We have also been doing hilly tempo runs of 3 to 10 miles (with smaller groups doing more or less). The workouts usually last until 7:00 p.m.
