Week of 2/4/2024

One day this week you will be receiving an invitation to the Annual Ship Marathon Party at Chez Jerie the Friday before the Austin Marathon (February 16th). In order to receive an invitation you MUST be on the Ship’s email distribution list (runners@countyline.com). If you’re not on the list you can get on it by sending an email to Coach Al and requesting to be put on the runner’s email list.

The centerpiece of the Marathon Party, in addition to Jerie’s scratch made lasagna, is the crowning of your Shipmate of the Year (SotY)! Nominate someone who you believe has gone above and beyond for the Ship. Past winners are not eligible (Al, Sandy, Jerie, Big, Vance, Chelsea, Grau, Penny, Kate, Luke, Michelle, and Julie). SotY is typically awarded a large stack of cash. You can contribute, but certainly are not required to, in any of the following ways:
– PayPal to buysell@yahoo.com
– Venmo to @Jeff-Burrus
– Cash App to $JeffBurrus
– Hand cash to Coach Al or myself at any workout/long run between now and Thursday, February 15th.
100% of contributions are passed through to the Shipmate of the Year so, unlike your contributions to ATX Runners, these contributions are not tax deductible.

Coach Al needs pace group leaders for Saturday’s long run. Let him know if you can help!

Thursday – meet near O. Henry at 10th/Wayside for an easy 1 mile warm up before the drills which begin at 6:00 pm…we’ll have water available. Then do a 4 mile tempo. Cool down with an easy mile.

Run every chance you get!
