Week of 9/29/2024

Coach Al (ok, I need them this week) needs pace group leaders for Saturday’s long run. Let me know if you can hook a brother up!! Please, please, please signal your intentions as early as humanly possible. Much appreciated!!

ACL is happening the next two weekends. While our Saturday parking lot should be open both Saturdays…remember that our back up plan is County Line World Headquarters just up the trail a bit. As always, if you’re a minute late we’ll be a minute down the trail.

Tuesday – meet near O. Henry at 10th/Wayside for an easy 1 mile warm up before the drills which begin at 6:00 pm…we’ll have water available. Then do Fartlek in/outs for 26 continuous minutes where an “in” is striding the straight and an “out” is jogging the curve. Cool down with an easy mile.

Thursday – meet near O. Henry at 10th/Wayside for an easy 1 mile warm up before the drills which begin at 6:00 pm…we’ll have water available. Then do a tempo run of 3 miles (half marathoners = this half mile loop x 6) or 4 miles (marathoners = the same half mile loop x 8). Fun group = 2 miles (that loop x 4). Cool down with an easy mile.

Saturday – there will be a long run departing from the zero (676 W Riverside) at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning. Kinda on but mostly off the trail this week for (marathoners) 14.18 miles, or (half marathoners) 8.42 miles, or (shorter route) 4.11 miles. Everybody starts with the same 4.11 mile shorter route up the Shoal Creek Trail and then adds the linked loop on the Town Lake Trail in order to arrive at their total mileage. Breakfast at Taco Joint (134 E Riverside) at the precise moment of your arrival.
