Y’all are absolutely killing it on the SotY nominations and contributions! Keep it up, there are only two weeks remaining!! The evite for the party is going out THIS WEEK so be on the lookout! 2023 marks the return of the pre-marathon carb loading extravaganza at Chez Jerie on Friday, February 17th, at 7 pm. The highlight of the evening is crowning your Shipmate of the Year. What is Shipmate of the Year?? I thought you’d never ask! SotY is someone who has gone above and beyond over the last year (or longer) in doing the things that make the Ship the Ship. Prior winners cannot win again (Al, Big, Sandy, Vance, Chelsea, Jerie, Jim Grau, Penny, Kate, Michelle, and Luke). Make your nomination here! In addition to your love and adoration we typically bestow a large stack of cash on the winner. Tuesday – meet near O. Henry at 10th/Wayside for an easy 1 mile warm up before the drills which begin at 6:00 pm…we’ll have water available. Then do 3 x 1600m repeats. Cool down with an easy mile.
Thursday – meet near O. Henry at 10th/Wayside for an easy 1 mile warm up before the drills which begin at 6:00 pm…we’ll have water available. Then do a tempo run of 4 miles. Cool down with an easy mile.
Saturday – there will be a long run departing from the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning. Mostly off the trail for 10.38 miles (marathoners) or 6.14 miles (half marathoners)…everybody starts with this 6.14 miler and marathoners tack on this 4.24 miles. Breakfast at El Borrego de Oro (3900 S Congress) at 8:59:59 am.
