The invitation to the Annual Ship Marathon Party will be going out tonight! We’ve taken steps to increase capacity but are still somewhat limited (80ish). Here are a few things to keep in mind in FAQ format…
1 – Can I bring my non-running spouse or significant other/kids/out of town guests? Yes, I suppose, but it could ultimately lead to someone from the group being displaced.
2 – What can I bring? Nothing! We will have veggie and meatie lasagna, salad, bread, water, Gatorade, and beer (Shiner). There will also be dessert if you can convince Coach Al to share. If you want something that’s not listed feel free to bring it.
3 – How do I contribute to the Shipmate of the Year fund? Simply hand your contribution to Coach Al or myself anytime between now and Thursday, February 15th.
The Workout – 800s
Marathoners = 8
Half Marathoners = 6
Newcomers = 4
News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (5 mile tempo). There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning. Off/on the trail this week for 13 miles (linked route plus the 7 mile loop clockwise on the trail). There will be Gatorade on the Ben White access road between S Congress and S 1st. Breakfast at Cheko’s (1304 W Koenig) at 9:30:30 am. There will be cake for December, January, and February birthdays.
