This is a busy time of year aboard the ship. There are a couple of volunteer efforts we like to get behind and they come in rapid fire fashion over the next few months.
The first is our water stop at the Decker Challenge. If you’re not racing we could really use your help at the water stop. We cover the first stop so the runners are still packed tightly together when they pass. Properly staffing the stop helps ensure a positive runner experience for ARC’s signature event.
The second is our flyer hanging duties in conjunction with Austin’s premier race, the Austin Marathon. The Saturday before the race, we hang flyers on the doors of homes along the route alerting them that they’ll be sequestered for several hours on race morning. We start right after the Saturday long run and breakfast. It takes a couple of hours to get it done assuming we get the right amount of bodies for the task at hand.
Stay tuned for more info in Thursday’s report!
The Workout – 5 x 1000
News – there will be a hill workout on Thursday (4 mile tempo). There will be a long run departing the zero at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning. Off the trail again this week for 11 miles or 20 miles. Run every chance you get!
