This week’s workouts will kick off training for the Ship’s fall group marathon, Twin Cities. At last count, Tim had 70 folks signed up so a good chunk of the group will be focusing on this race for the next several months. As part of the effort, pace group leaders will be needed this coming Saturday. Please let Tim know if you can help!
June Happy Hour! Caroline and Sophia have taken over happy hour planning and are kicking it off THURSDAY, after the hill workout, at Austin Beer Garden Brewing (ABGB) at 1305 W Oltorf immediately following the Thursday workout. Let Caroline know if you plan on attending.
Tuesday – meet near O. Henry at 10th/Wayside for an easy 1 mile warm up before the drills which begin at 6:00 pm…we’ll have water available. Then do Kenyan Style Fartleks (26 minutes of continuous running fast on the straights, jogging the curves). Cool down with an easy mile.
Thursday – meet near O. Henry at 10th/Wayside for an easy 1 mile warm up before the drills which begin at 6:00 pm…we’ll have water available. Then do hilly 1000m repeats (fast group = 5, fun group = 4, newcomers/semi-injured group = 3). Cool down with an easy mile.
Saturday – there will be a long run departing from the zero (676 W Riverside) at 7:00:00 am Saturday morning. Mostly off the trail this week for 11.26 miles, 9.18 miles, 6.13 miles, or 4.21 miles. Breakfast at Lazarus (4803 Airport) at 9:31:31 am.
